InLine Engineering, Inc has extensive experience with design of townhomes in small and large communities in the Bay Area. In recent years, we have designed townhomes in Pleasanton, Dublin and San Jose.
During the design phase, we work closely with the developer and other consultants. Our understanding of the architectural aspect of the building, City’s requirements, contractor’s demands and clients’ expectations allows us to meet high design standards.
Our attention to detail, presentation of the construction documents and our accessibility throughout the whole process of the design and construction allows the client to rely on InLine as a valued member of the team.
Townhomes typically have common walls between the units and special consideration is needed. A common requirement is to maintain a 2 inch separation between the common walls. The roof and foundation is structurally connected while the second floor framing is not. Special consideration to the lateral loads is needed since the seismic and wind loadings change at different levels.
